How are TruJoy Sweets products different from conventional candies?

TruJoy Sweets candies are made with the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. Our products are made without corn syrup or artificial colors and flavors. We use organic sweeteners to create a healthier and better tasting product.

Why should I be concerned about artificial colors?

A study completed by the British medical journal The Lancet, showed that artificial colors and preservatives increased hyperactivity and decreased attention span in a wide range of children with and without learning disabilities. A number of food and candy manufacturers in Europe are now removing artificial colors, flavors and preservatives from their products. In addition, the American Academy of Pediatrics recently issued a position paper which suggested removing artificial colors and preservatives from the diets of children experiencing ADHD behaviors ( Artificial colors are primarily coal-tar derivatives made from chemical compounds which are made when coal is distilled.

Are your products gluten-free?

All TruJoy Sweets products are made without wheat on dedicated gluten free equipment making them suitable for people with celiac disease or following a gluten-free diet. We do random testing on finished product down to 5PPM for gluten. TruJoy Sweets Fruit Chews, Choco Chews and Peppermint Choco Chews are certified gluten free and carry the GFCO symbol on the package.

Are your products produced and/or packaged in a facility with other common allergens?

TruJoy Sweets Organic Candy Canes and Organic Lollipops: We are proud to announce that our candy cane and lollipop facility is now peanut and tree nut free! Our organic candy canes and lollipops are produced on dedicated nut-free, gluten-free, egg- free and dairy- free equipment in a segregated area of a facility that also processes dairy, eggs, soy, and wheat. The candy cane and lollipop production line is on a dedicated floor and has its own HVAC system.

Are your products Feingold approved?

Are your products Vegetarian or Vegan?

Yes, TruJoy Sweets candies are both Vegetarian and Vegan.

Are your products Kosher (pareve)?

Yes, TruJoy Sweets Organic Candy Canes are certified Kosher by the Kashruth Council of Canada.

TruJoy Sweets Fruit Chews, Choco Chews and Peppermint Choco Chews are certified by KOF-K Kosher Supervision.

Is the organic palm oil in TruJoy Sweets Organic Fruit Chews sustainably sourced?

Yes, our organic palm oil supplier is RSPO certified which means that they have taken steps to limit their impact on forests and peatlands. In addition, our supplier is certified by IBD Brazil under its Organic and EcoSocial program. Futhermore, they recently received the highest rating of all palm oil producers for palm oil sustainability by the environmental group Greenpeace.

Are your products corn free?

Yes, Organic Candy Canes, Organic Heart Shaped Lollipops, Organic Bunny Shaped Lollipops, Organic Choco Chews and Organic Peppermint Choco Chews are all corn free. Organic Fruit Chews have Ascorbic Acid as an ingredient which is derived from corn.

What is the natural peppermint flavor used in the Organic Candy Canes?

The natural peppermint flavor is an organic compliant flavor with sub-ingredients of sugar derived alcohol and the essence of peppermint and vanilla.

What organic fruit juices are used to color your Organic Candy Canes and Lollipops?

We use three different organic fruit juices to color our candy canes and red lollipops: organic apple, organic black currant and organic elderberry. We use organic pumpkin and apple to color the yellow lollipops.

What do you use to keep the candy cane and lollipop mix from sticking to the machines during the candy making process?

The ingredients used as processing aids in our lollipops and candy canes are palm oil, canola oil and sunflower lechithin.
